Soda Springs Library is excited to offer free audio book checkouts that can be played on your MP3 player. In association with Netlibrary, we can offer local patrons with an additional 2,000 choices in audio book format. If you haven't tried this out, the library has a few MP3 players available for checkout. Just follow the links and instructions and you should be ready to download audio books.

The science fiction and fantasy community has a reason to mourn this week as the news of Robert Jordan's death has been announced. Jordan has suffered from cardiac amyloidosis since March 2006. Robert Jordan is the author of the Wheel of Time series. He was working on his final novel, which remains unfinished. The publisher may try to finish the book from the author's notes. Our hearts and prayers go to Robert Jordan's family.

The library has received new toys for our children's area. We have installed a play kitchen under the stairs - complete with lots of dishes and food. On a nearby table, we have a new dollhouse with furniture and dolls. The kids who have discovered the new toys have had lots of fun. Come check it out!
